Week 7 MTC April 8, 2010

Proseletismo

Rough. We had our citas that we were really excited for. We scheduled them last saturday, called to confirm them on thursday and...they fell through. It was a very humbling experience.

We went earlier in the day to reconfirm our appointment even though it seemed really solid on the phone. Fernando came out of the house holding the Book of Mormon and folletos we gave them. Folletos? Have I used that term before? We don't ever use the english word, even among gringos that got here a week ago. It's a pamphlet. Anyways, it looked like he was going to give them back to us, but we didn't let him ´´No, es un regalo. Es para usted.´´ is a very useful phrase. He explained that they weren't interested and they weren't going to be home at the right time.

We don't go back to that area anymore, so that's the last we see of them,but oh well. Hopefully we planted a seed. I still have a feeling Analía was excited and Fernando just wanted to get rid of us.

But now we have a new area and a new outlook. Hopefully this week will be better than the last. (continued, next post)
