September 13, 2010 Treinta y Tres with Elder Draper

Hey all,,

Everything is still going well here in 33. We're still having some rain, but for the most part, I think we're done with the rain for the winter. We had a good day in church yesterday, which is rare when it's cold out. A few of our investigators were out of town, so they didn't come,

The inactive guy that wanted to start again, came to church and brought his wife. It was really cool. The way they talked, the wife was the one who brought him, so she's probably going to get baptized. That's pretty exciting. Right now we don't have tons of new investigators, so it's really good when the ones we already have are progressing.

News: Cecilia and Flavia, the two cousins who got baptized last month just had a huge family feud and their grandma kicked Cecilia out of the house, so now we have to visit both of them. Fortunately, Cecilia lives closer to the chapel now, so it's easier for her to come, but it's hard for Flavia, because now she doesn't have anyone to go with. Oh well, we'll see what happens.

I'm now here with Elder Lancaster again. Our companions just went to Montevideo for a couple days for another conference, so we're doing a couple days together. These conferences are starting to get out of control. There's one every other month now and everything with Zone conferences has changed.

How Do Zone Conferences Work?: Pres. Da Silva and his wife come to our Zone and we do practices and they talk to us about how the mission's doing and what we can do to do better. Then we eat lunch. Before, we also had interviews with the president those days. Now we don't. We have Interviews everyother change and Zone conference on the other changes. When we have interviews, we also do practices while we wait for the president to get done with all the interviews.

That's so crazy that Conference is this change. I'm practically half done with my mission if you're counting in Conferences. I'll have 2 out of 4. And...I'm still in my first area. I think I've gotta be out of here this change. I've knocked every door in this town at least 3 times. Oh well. The members are really good and they feed us really well. But it would be nice to see more of the country and get to know some new doors.

Talk to you all next week. Hope everything keeps going well for you guys at home. ¡Hagan lo justo! (Choose the Right)

Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all. The salutation of Elder Parry with mine own hand, which is the token in every email: so I write. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
