Hey all,
It rained! It finally cooled down! It feels really good these days and
it's been a really good week.
We had an investigator come to church a couple weeks ago, Rene(e) but
didn't come last week and we've only taught her once outside of church
and she came yesterday. It was a miracle. She has some serious desires
to get baptized. She kept saying that she needs to get out of the
house she's renting because it's got a lot of problems, including
neighbors who make fun of her for being religious, but she said she
wouldn't be able to make any positive change in her life unless she
was baptized first. It's really cool teaching her. She has a lot of
faith. yesterday after church we taught her the word of wisdom and she
told us that she smokes. When we challenged her to quit, she accepted
really fast and said she'd quit immediately. When we called her last
night to verify the lesson for tomorrow, she said she hadn't smoked
and said she's just completely done with smoking forever. It's so
awesome.
Anyways, sounds like things are going pretty well at home. In the
mission we have a big focus in planning about 3 weeks ahead,
anticipating changes in the ward or with our investigators.
Now....that 3 week planning has a lot to do with what I hear on Monday
morning rather than what happens during the week. Every Thursday we
have weekly planning session and get ready for the next week (Monday
to Sunday). I have one more planning session that I'm planning for my
area and then one where I'm basically planning my first week home.
haha. It's getting pretty close.
We had zone conference this week in 33 and it was awesome. I got to
see President Dutra, my first branch president and he couldn't believe
I'm almost going home. I gave my valiant testimony in the conference.
Elder Pike and Elder Taylor gave their testimonies with me too since
they're in 33. It was a really nice, spiritual experience. Pike and
Taylor also recieved what is called ```The Trunky Packet`` which is a
packet of papers that explains the luggage limitations for the flight
along with the flight plans and some papers to fill out to plan out
life as an RM (Finding work, education, wife, etc.) Mine didn't come
for some reason, so I'm gonna be asking the offices today to figure
out what happened and what I should do.
Questions and answers:
Anything special about zone conference since it's my last one? Just
the testimony. Every zone conference is somebody's last zone
conference, so it's usually just the valiant testimony.
What happens in the last week? I don't know real well....since that's
in the trunky packet, but I have an idea. Monday is p-day like normal,
here in melo. Packing and saying goodbye and such. Tuesday is change
day. Me and my comp are in charge of the trip again, rent the bus,
pick everyone up, and such. Wednesday is kind of a free day that we
can visit people. Since I was only in one area in Montevideo, I'm
gonna go there. We don't have much time. I'm probably gonna be with
Elder Gardner, since he was in an area close by. I'm gonna visit
Martha and Heber probably. I don't know who else I would visit there.
It's a pretty complicated area and I think we only have part of
tuesday and maybe wednesday morning to visit. Then we go to the temple
with President Da Silva and that night we have Family Home Evening
with all who are going home and President and his wife in the mission
home. Then that night we go to the airport and we leave. You have all
the flight plans. We go straight from Carrasco in Montevideo to Miami,
then Dallas, then Salt Lake City.
So yeah. That's about it. Life's going good. My comp and I are getting
along. The area's doing well. The zone's looking good, and most
importantly, I'm finishing strong.
Talk to you next week!
